Armenian-American violinist Samuel Andonian joined the Boston Symphony Orchestra in the 2025-26 season. He has been a soloist with orchestras including the Boston Pops Orchestra, New York Classical Players, and Boston Youth Symphony, and recently performed in recital at the New York Public Library for the Performing Arts at Lincoln Center. As a chamber musician, he has participated in the Marlboro Music Festival, Perlman Music Program, Kneisel Hall, and Norfolk Chamber Music Festival, performing with such artists as Kim Kashkashian, Jonathan Biss, and members of the Juilliard, Cleveland, and Brentano string quartets. He is on faculty at the NEC Preparatory School (violin & CHIPS), having previously taught at the Brooklyn College Conservatory of Music, the Kaufman Music Center’s Lucy Moses School, and Vivace Music Foundation’s VivacePrep program. A graduate of the New England Conservatory and Juilliard, he is pursuing a DMA at the CUNY Graduate Center. His principal teachers include Donald Weilerstein, Catherine Cho, and Mark Steinberg.
